Raz Chen-Morris

Raz Chen Morris is married with three children.  He graduated from The Hebrew University in Jerusalem and received MA cum lauda in history of medieval and Renaissance science from Tel Aviv University. In 2001 he received his PhD from Tel Aviv University. During those years Chen Morris taught in several high schools and colleges, amongst them The Arts and Science High School in Jerusalem, Alma Hebrew College in Tel Aviv, Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Tel Aviv University and Seminar Hakibbutzim. Today Chen Morris is a lecturer at the graduate program in Science, Technology and Society at Bar Ilan University, and a research fellow at the Minerva Center, Tel Aviv University. Chen Morris published widely on Renaissance Science, concentrating on Kepler's optics. His major publications are: “Optics, Imagination, and the Construction of Scientific Observation in Kepler’s New Science,” The Monist (2001) 84, 4:453-486; “Shadows of Instruction: Optics and Classical Authorities in Kepler’s Somnium, Journal for the History of Ideas (2005) 66, 2:223-243; "From Emblems to Diagrams: Kepler’s New Pictorial Language of Scientific Representation," Renaissance Quarterly (2009) 62, 1:134-170.
